Thermalite |
| In the early 1990’s the plantation
shutter industry went looking for an alternative to wood, the only
material used at the time. Wood shutters were a beautiful finished
product but had inherent problems such as warping. The painted finishes
were also subject to chipping and cracking due to the nature of wood
as a natural product. The shutter industry has produced many alternatives
including vinyl and pressed board with a baked-on finish. Thermalite
is a solid material. It is visually indistinguishable from wood and
will not chip, crack, or warp. It can be custom painted to match any
existing painted trim and is virtually maintenance free. It is ideal
for bathrooms and high humidity locations like Cape Cod, but is the
preferred choice for every room in the house. Thermalite custom shutters
by Innuwindow are fabricated locally and we handle all measuring and
installation. We offer 2 1/2,” 3 1/2, ” and 4 1/2”
